Taxdermided
The Taxdermided (2011) series is a series that deals with spaces that were very active in the past but have lost their function and been abandoned at the same time. The space depicted in the work is a kind of preserved space, existing with the semblance of past places and forms but devoid of vitality—a space whose utility has been lost due to the simultaneous flow of time and changes in societal structures. Despite being a neglected place that no one pays attention to anymore, it still exists. It might have been a workplace where someone, as the breadwinner, had to work tirelessly every day for the sake of their family's livelihood. However, now it's nothing but an abandoned factory, serving as a shelter for wild animals. Other spaces featured in the work surely held different values. And the process of their disappearance also has its own valid circumstances or reasons. The spaces, reinterpreted through the artist's perspective, represent the scars of the past that have been scratched and faded away in the process of coming to the present. "Perhaps this place, too, is not unlike another abandoned factory that will be left behind in the times to come."
